We’ve all heard that finances are a major source of stress for couples, in fact, there are many articles and research that says finances are reported to be one of the top 10 reasons people get divorced. But is there really such a thing as financial infidelity? Communication is a key factor in healthy relationships, and that includes communication around finances. We all have different values, attitudes, and beliefs when it comes to money and it’s important to share these thoughts with your partner.

Canadian television series Til Debt Do Us Part host, Gail Vaz-Oxlade, writes “Work at understanding your differences. And when conflicts arise, negotiate agreements so that small issues don’t become big problems.”

There are tons of free resources out there for individuals and couples when it comes to help with money management. Do some research, set some goals, and most importantly—START TALKING about finances with your partner!
